Game Recap

Mother nature decided to be kind to the Frontier Falcons Tuesday and allowed for the a single game against North White. After suffering their first lost of the season in an 8-7 game against West Lafayette Monday, the Falcons decided they would come out to the field with a different attitude.

Zach Loy had two extra base hits in his 3-4 day, sparking the Falcons to an 8-5 victory in seven innings over North White on Tuesday. His 2 doubles came in the 3rd inning and also adding his second double in the 6th.

AJ Hall had an impressive outing against North White’s lineup. Hall kept the North White bats at bay and didn’t allow a hit in his 5 innings on the bump before reaching a pitch count that would not let him continue. His outstanding performance showed no earned runs, walking three and striking out six during his five innings of work.

Luke Diener couldn’t get it done on the rubber for North White, taking a loss. He lasted just three innings, walked seven, struck out six, and allowed five runs.

Frontier stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the first, scoring one run on an RBI single by Cole Fesler.

The Falcons put up two runs in each of the second, third and sixth. In the second, Frontier scored on a walk by Zeb Davis, plating Zach Oaks.

Two runs in the top of the sixth helped North White close its deficit to 6-2. A two-run single by Jarod Shane fueled North White’s comeback. Ryan Shriver flew out to end the North White threat.

Frontier answered North White’s top inning with two runs of its own in the sixth scoring on a sacrifice fly by Casey Frier and an RBI single by Connor Klinkhamer.

North White scored three runs in the top of the seventh to cut its deficit to three. A two-run single by Clint Hendress and an RBI single by Shane set off North White rally, before Senior Pitcher Sam Kriebel cam in to shut the door for the Falcons.

Frontier runs their record to 1-1 on the season and will travel to Fountain Central for a Non Conference game starting at 5pm.
