Frontier High School
Fountain Central High School
For the third game of the season the Frontier Falcons traveled to Coach Neal’s home town of Veedersburg Indiana where they faced off against the Mustangs of Fountain Central. In this non conference match up the nod was given to Senior Pitcher Sam Kriebel. Sam earned the win for the Falcons throwing 5 complete innings striking out 3 Mustangs and walking just one. Out of the 3 runs for Fountain Central only 1 was earned. Sam had command of all his pitches throwing 50 of 71 pitches for a strike. Mr. Kriebel gave way to Tyler Prior in the sixth. Prior finished the game not allowing any more Fountain Central players to cross the plate.
Beside having a solid performance on the mound, the Frontier bats started to generate life by pounding out 12 hits scoring 11 runs. Leading the way at the plate for the Falcons were Senior AJ Hall who went 3-4 with 2 2B’s and 3 RBI’s and Sophomore Zach Oaks also going 3-4 with a 2B. Zeb Davis added 2 singles and 3 RBI’s while Cole Fesler also added 2 singles. Coach Neal added “It was nice to see the bats come alive and watch the kids start driving the ball into the gaps today”
Saturday marks the First Annual K Cancer event at Falcon Field. With the forecast predicted to be in the low to mid 70’s and a wind that wouldn’t keep a kite in the air, it looks to be a phenomenal day for a couple of games and an opportunity to show your support to victims of a horrible disease. First Pitch is scheduled for 11am so get there early to participate in the events planned for that day. There will be a survivor walk for everyone that has been impacted by cancer as well a balloon launch taking place during the first pitch. To help raise money a bake sale will be set up for everyone to feed their sweet tooth. K Cancer t-shirts will also be sold at the game, but supplies will be very limited. The Frontier Falcon Baseball team look forward to seeing a stands full of red shirts to show your fight against cancer.
