Game Recap

The Frontier Falcons traveled Remington for a Hoosier Heartland Conference Twin Bill against the Tri-County Cavaliers. With a conference record of 3-0 and a tie tacked on, the Falcons needed to win both to remain at the top of the conference.

In game 1 of the double header Frontier sent Senior AJ Hall to the mound to keep the Cavs on their heels. AJ struggled to find the strike zone suffering 5 walks and hitting 1 Cavalier and giving up 3 earned runs. Although his command was lacking he still managed to get the Win because of the offensive onslaught. Five Falcons smashed out a multi-hit game. Seniors Zeb Davis and Zach Loy both went 3-5 in the game to total 6 of the 15 hits. The young sticks in the lineup, Sophomore Zach Oaks and Freshman Casey Frier and Tanner Dold all had 2 hits each with Frier adding a double. Freshman Jack Mikesell was called to the mound in the 5th inning to earn the save for the Falcons. Mikesell kept Tri-County off balance striking out 4 and allowing only 2 hits. The Falcons moved to 7-1-1 after game 1 and 4-0-1 in the Conference.
