Game Recap

This past weekend the Falcons hosted Tri-County for a conference double header. Frontier split with the Cavaliers losing the first game 3-2 and winning the second game 13-5. Offensively in Game 1 the Falcons were led by Sophomore Tanner Dold who went 2-4 with an RBI. Junior Zach Oaks and Senior Vince Price added a double a piece. Senior Sean Larimer went 6 innings on the mound giving up 5 hits, 3 runs (1 earned), and striking out 7 Cavs.

Game 2 was a different story all together. The Falcons had 11 hits in the game paired with 13 runs. Vince Price led the attack on the offensive end with a 3-4 performance. Price also had 4 RBI’s on the game. Three other Falcons added a multi-hit game Sophomore’s Jack Mikesell and Tanner Dold each had singles along with Senior Winter Burghardt adding 2 singles of his own. Zach Oaks contributed to the offensive onslaught with Frontier’s only extra base hit of the game (2B). On the mound WInter Burghardt collected the win by throwing 5 complete innings, giving up 4 hits, 4 runs (3 earned) and 3 strikeouts. Jack Mikesell came in at the start of the 6th inning and finished the game with 4 strike outs, 1 hit, and 1 run (unearned).

Frontier’s season record is set at 4-10-1 and 2-4 in the Hoosier Heartland Conference. They will travel to Seeger for a single game today (4/25) with a game start time of 5:00pm.
