Frontier Falcons Varsity Can’t Catch Up To Tri-County

Frontier Falcons Varsity fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 14-4 loss to Tri-County on Saturday. Tri-County scored on a double by Drew Moseley and a double by Chase Kirby in the first inning.
Frontier Falcons Varsity lost despite out-hitting Tri-County eight to seven.
Tri-County got things started in the first inning. Moseley drove in one when he doubled.
Frontier Falcons Varsity notched three runs in the fourth inning. The offensive onslaught by Frontier Falcons Varsity was led by Tanner Dold and Conner Klinkhamer, all driving in runs in the frame.
Tri-County scored seven runs in the third inning. Layton Randolph, Rustin Schambach, Moseley, Austyn Nevitt, and Kirby all drove in runs in the frame.
Nevitt pitched Tri-County to victory. He lasted three and two-thirds innings, allowing six hits and three runs while striking out seven and walking zero. Dalton Justice threw one and one-third innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Zach Oaks took the loss for Frontier Falcons Varsity. He surrendered six runs on three hits over two and a third innings, striking out three.
Frontier Falcons Varsity collected eight hits on the day. Casey Frier and Brooks Sailors each managed multiple hits for Frontier Falcons Varsity. Sailors and Frier each managed two hits to lead Frontier Falcons Varsity.
Tri-County saw the ball well today, racking up seven hits in the game. Nevitt and Moseley each had multiple hits for Tri-County. Nevitt went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Tri-County in hits. Tri-County was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Kirby made the most plays with eight.
